. . .but don't let their smaller size fool you! "Entles" are strong and active dogs, originally bred to drive cattle in the Swiss Alps. Highly intelligent, loyal, and devoted, they are known as the "smiling dogs." They are happiest when they have a job to do alongside their people. This high-energy breed requires daily physical and mental activity (such as hiking, agility, or playtime) to thrive. They closely bond to their families and are very content to snuggle after a good workout. They can be aloof with strangers. Due to their strong attachment to their family, they should not be left alone for long periods of time.
For more information about the breed, please check out the National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association (NEMDA) website.
Leslie Duran and Ingrid van Kesteren are the people behind Coast Mountain Entlebuchers. They fell in love with the breed in 2008 with the arrival of their first Entlebucher puppy, Hills to Mountains Colorado Skye (shown here with Leslie and Ingrid). Luka is their second Entlebucher. Leslie & Ingrid are active members of the National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association (NEMDA) and the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).
Coast Mountain Entlebuchers is located on traditional Coast Salish territory in the beautiful Comox Valley, British Columbia, Canada
